DigiRoots is a national initiative that introduces Nigerian children aged 8–12 to essential computing skills through a three-level curriculum, trained teachers, and mobile ICT labs.
Who can enroll?
Children aged 8–12 years old, typically in primary school. Parents, guardians, or schools can help enroll eligible students.
What will my child learn?
*Computer basics (turning on/off, typing, mouse use)
*Safe internet habits and email basics
*Creating documents, presentations, and simple coding projects
*Digital storytelling and exploring Nigerian culture with technology
Where does DigiRoots take place?
Primarily in participating primary schools across Nigeria. For rural areas, DigiRoots also uses mobile solar-powered ICT labs to bring learning directly to communities.
Who teaches the classes?
Specially trained local teachers and ICT facilitators, supported with illustrated workbooks, videos, and local language glossaries.
Do we need to buy a computer at home?
No. DigiRoots is designed to work within schools and mobile labs so every child has access — even without a home computer.
