At DigiRoots, we guide children aged 8–12 through a structured, three-level digital learning journey.
Each stage is carefully designed to match their age, interests, and learning pace — laying the groundwork for confident, creative digital explorers.
Level 1 (Ages 8–9): Getting Familiar
Theme: Introduction to Computers
Children discover the basics of what computers are and what they can do — through fun, hands-on activities.
Key topics include:
*What is a computer?
*Parts of a computer (monitor, CPU, mouse, keyboard)
*Turning a computer on/off safely
*Basic typing and mouse skills
*Introduction to operating systems (Windows or Linux)
*Simple drawing & writing tools (Paint, WordPad)
*Computer ethics & staying safe
Outcome: Children become comfortable with computers and start seeing them as creative tools.
Level 2 (Ages 9–10): Hands-On Learning
Theme: Functional Computer Use
Learners build real-world digital skills, from managing files to using the internet safely.
Key topics include:
*File management (open, save, rename, delete)
*Word processing basics (MS Word)
*Introduction to internet and web browsers
*Email for kids (send, receive, etiquette)
*Using educational software (math games, storybooks)
*Multimedia basics (playing audio, video)
*Staying safe online (privacy, cyberbullying awareness)
Outcome: Children can navigate digital tools with purpose and responsibility.
Level 3 (Ages 10–12): Digital Creators
Theme: Creating and Exploring
Older learners explore creative and collaborative projects, including coding and digital storytelling.
Key topics include:
*Presentations (PowerPoint or equivalent)
*Basic spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets)
*Fun with coding (block-based tools like Scratch)
*Exploring Nigerian culture digitally (digital storytelling, local games)
*Group projects: digital diaries, e-posters
*Introduction to STEM concepts through simulations
*Final project and certification
Outcome: Children apply digital tools to express themselves, solve problems, and create original projects.
